In times when pregnancy is unwanted due to the inability to emotionally, physically, or financially care for a child, a woman is again within her right to decide whether or not to abort. Should local, state or federal government prohibit termination of the pregnancy, that entity must take responsibility for the care of the child once born. Sex and pregnancy education must improve to prevent such situations. | |||

It is unthinkable that a company could make $11B in profit and pay $0 in taxes. These leaves a heavy burden on middle-class income earners making $35-$122K to tackle the nation's enormous debt - which has increased by $3T under Trump. This is not a political party problem. This is a class problem. Wealthy individuals and corporations funnel millions of dollars to sway congressional votes their way, ensuring themselves low tax burdens and high rates of return. | |||

While I personally believe in diplomatic solutions, other nations may not. The United States must be prepared at all times to defend ourselves and our allies from those who wish to do us harm. In the age of cyber warfare, military defense includes much more than tanks and bullets. We must remain on the leading edge of technology if we wish to maintain the American way of life. | |||

| I spent over 21 years supporting and defending the Constitution and all of its Amendments. I am not out to take away the guns of any law-abiding citizen. As a gun owner myself, I would like to maintain this constitutional right. To do so, we must enact common-sense gun regulations to a) keep guns out of the hands of violent criminals, domestic violence offenders, and dating partner violence offenders, and b) limit the types of weapons an individual may own. Mass destruction and mass-casualty weapons, like tanks and rocket launchers, are not appropriate for private ownership. Neither are fully-automatic rifles. | |||

| This is a very difficult situation to navigate. As a Christian, I want to welcome everyone with open arms. Some, if not most, immigrants are seeking a better life for themselves and their families and come from impoverished areas around the world. However, this is a country of laws. U.S. citizens are held to account when those laws are violated and unlawful immigrants should be as well. The question is, under what circumstance should they be returned to their country? As a Congressman, I will explore the best ways to ensure humanitarian solutions are introduced and passed. | |||

| It is critical to national security that the United States remains engaged in and situationally aware of the geo-political, armament strategies, and other factors contributing to Middle East conflicts. With that said, when it is necessary for the protection of U.S. or allied forces and nations, decisive diplomatic, humanitarian and, as a last resort, military action must be taken. However, whenever possible, the U.S. must limit its engagement in the Middle East. | |||

| It is near-impossible to give a blanket Yes or No answer. Many factors weigh heavily on the decision to institute these barriers. While a tariff may prove disastrous for U.S. farmers in one scenario, an embargo may mean the difference between one nation invading another in the next. The matter of levying such barriers on international trade should be decided case by case. I also believe such barriers, once contemplated by the U.S. President, should perhaps be deliberated by a select congressional committee. | |||
| COVID-19 will very well still be a serious public health issue in January 2021. I will work for a national program to develop realistic guidelines for reopening the economy while minimizing the threat to Americans. I will also work to implement universal healthcare with a public option. And, I would work to enact Vote-by-Mail for all federal and state elections. There are already five states: Washington, Oregon, Hawaii, Colorado, and Utah that vote entirely by mail. Plus, military personnel stationed overseas have been voting by mail for decades. Every American citizen has the right to vote, despite their physical location. |
